Remove text from an image Paint over the letters and the background fills in behind them.

Drop an image, paint over the text, caption, date stamp or logo, and press Erase. The letters go and whatever was behind them fills back in, so the picture looks like the text was never there. Full size, free, no watermark.

How to remove text from an image

  1. Drop your image in. Or paste it from the clipboard. It opens in the editor.
  2. Paint over the text. Use a brush a little wider than the letters and cover every stroke, including any shadow or outline around the text. It shows in red.
  3. Press Erase, then download. The background fills in behind the letters. Zoom in to check, touch up anything left, then download at full size.

Questions people ask

Will the background stay intact?

Yes. Only the marked pixels change; everything outside the red stays exactly as it was, and the fill is matched to what surrounds the letters.

Can it remove text from a busy background?

Yes, and the result is best on textures like sky, walls, grass, water and fabric. Text across a face or across fine detail is harder; use a brush just wider than the letters and erase a few words at a time.

Can it remove a date stamp or a caption from a screenshot?

Yes. Paint over the stamp or the caption and press Erase. It works the same on photos, screenshots and scans.

Is it free, with no watermark?

Yes. The full-size image is the free result, with no watermark and no limit on the number of images.
