Free tool

Increase image resolution Turn a low-resolution image into a high-resolution one, 2x or 4x, without the blur.

Drop the image, pick 2x or 4x, press Upscale. Instead of stretching pixels, the detail is rebuilt at the new size, so a 1000-pixel picture becomes a sharp 4000-pixel one. Free, no watermark.

Why people pick this one

Resizing up in an editor gives you the same blur at a bigger size. Here the detail is rebuilt, and the full-resolution result is the free download.

Drag the divider across the picture and zoom right into the pixels to see exactly what changed.
Price
Free, no watermark, no sign-up. The Pro model, with every face restored, is one credit a photo with a free account.

How to increase the resolution of an image

  1. Drop the image in and pick 2x or 4x. The page shows the exact result size before you start: a 1200 by 800 image at 4x is 4800 by 3200.
  2. Press Upscale and compare. Drag the divider to see the rebuilt detail against the original, and zoom in to check.
  3. Download. PNG for the cleanest file, JPG or WebP for a smaller one. Full resolution, no watermark.

Where a higher resolution is required

Print
Printers want 300 dpi. A 1200-pixel image at 4x is 4800 pixels, a sharp 16-inch print.
Marketplace listings
Amazon and Etsy ask for 1000 pixels or more on the long side, and zoom needs 2000. A small supplier image gets there.
Website images
Hero images and banners at full width without the soft look on a big screen.
Presentations and video
Images that stay crisp on a 4K screen or in a 1080p edit.
Profile and cover photos
Platforms downscale, so start bigger than they ask.

Resolution that carries real detail

  • A bigger pixel count only helps when the pixels carry detail. The tool rebuilds edges and texture at the new size instead of copying pixels, so the result looks like a photo taken at that resolution.
  • Tick Classic resize, no AI for a plain enlargement with a light sharpen when nothing may be added, as for a diagram or a logo.
  • The Pro model, signed in, rebuilds finer texture still, with every face restored.

Questions people ask

How do I make an image high resolution?

Drop it here, pick 4x and press Upscale. The tool rebuilds edges and texture at the larger size, so the result is a genuinely higher-resolution image, not a stretched one. Drag the divider to compare, then download.

What do 2x and 4x mean?

2x doubles the width and height, so a 1000 by 800 photo becomes 2000 by 1600 with four times the pixels. 4x makes it 4000 by 3200. Pick 2x to clean up a photo that is already a decent size, 4x to make a small one big enough for print or a full screen.

What resolution do I need to print?

Divide the pixel count by 300 for inches at print quality: 3600 pixels is a 12-inch print. Pick the scale that gets you there; the page shows the result size before you start.

Is it really free, with no watermark?

Yes. The full-size result is the free download. There is no watermark, no preview-only file and no sign-up to get it.

What is the biggest image I can upscale?

Results go up to about 8K on the long side. A very large photo is worked on at a smaller size first so the result fits in the browser, and the page tells you the exact size before you press the button.

Can I enlarge without AI, so nothing is invented?

Yes. Tick Classic resize, no AI and you get a smooth enlargement with a light sharpen and nothing made up, the right choice for a diagram, a logo or anything that has to stay exactly as it was.

What does the Pro model add?

The Pro model rebuilds finer detail: skin, hair, fabric and text come back with real texture, and every face is restored so eyes, lips and hairlines are clear. It is one credit a photo with a free account, and the result comes back the same way, ready to compare and download.

Which formats can I use?

JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC go in. You can download as PNG, JPG or WebP.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Drop in a photo from your camera roll, pinch to zoom in on the result, and the download lands in your photos like any other file.

Why does the first photo take a moment?

The first time on a device the tool gets itself ready, which takes a few seconds. After that, photos start at once.
