Enhance video quality Sharper, cleaner, richer, at the size you shot.
Phone footage often comes out a little flat: grey blacks, thin colour, soft detail. Drop it here and it is measured, then set right for that clip: blacks deepened, contrast and colour brought up, detail sharpened where it is soft. Compare with the original and download.

Enhance video quality at a glance
Enhancing is not enlarging. This tool keeps the size you shot and fixes what makes phone footage look dull, from the video's own numbers.
- Works with
- MP4, MOV and WebM, straight from a phone, including HDR recordings.
- Comes back as
- An MP4 at the size you shot, sound copied as it was.
- Runs
- In your browser.
- Sets
- Blacks, contrast, colour, local contrast and sharpening, each from what the video needs.
- Price

How to enhance video quality online
- Drop the video in. It plays in the page and is measured in a moment.
- Compare. Enhanced and Original show the same frame two ways. Scrub through and check the faces and the shadows.
- Download. Pick the size and download the MP4.
What gets better
- Flat, grey footage
- The darkest tones become black again and the contrast comes back.
- Thin colour
- Colour is brought up to a natural level, with skin tones kept.
- Soft detail
- Local contrast gives the picture its edge; sharpening is added only when the picture is soft, never on one that is already crisp.
- Over-bright phone clips
- A bright picture is eased down a little. Nothing is ever brightened.
- HDR that looks wrong elsewhere
- An HDR recording is converted to standard video so it looks the same on every screen.
What you get
- No account for videos up to 480p, no watermark, no email address. A free account downloads at the size you shot.
Questions people ask
Does it upscale to HD or 4K?
No. The video keeps the size it was shot at. What changes is the picture: its blacks, contrast, colour and detail, and HDR made to look right everywhere. For a bigger picture, shoot at a higher setting.
How does it decide what to change?
It reads a dozen frames spread over the video and measures them: where the blacks and whites sit, how much colour there is, how soft the detail is. From that it sets the amount, within limits, so a flat clip gets more and a well-shot one gets a light touch. Nothing is brightened; a bright picture is eased down a little if it needs it.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
Free, and nothing is added to the video. Without an account, downloads go up to 480p. A free account downloads at the size you shot.
Can I see the original next to it?
Yes. The Enhanced and Original buttons under the picture switch the same frame between the two, so you can judge every part of the video before you download.
Will it make a blurry video sharp?
It sharpens soft detail, which helps a slightly soft phone clip. It cannot put back detail that was never recorded; a video that is out of focus or heavily compressed stays that way.
Why does my iPhone video look washed out on other screens?
iPhones record in HDR (HLG or Dolby Vision, in the BT.2020 colour space) by default. A phone screen shows that as intended; most other screens, players and websites do not, and the picture comes out flat, grey and over-bright. This tool reads what the file was shot in and converts the picture to standard video (BT.709), which every screen shows the same way.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in a current browser on a phone, tablet or computer. The work runs on the device's own graphics, so a long video takes a while on an older phone.
