Video enhancer Better colour, contrast and detail, read from your video.
Drop a video and it is read first: where its blacks and whites sit, how much colour it has, how soft it is. Then it is set right for that video, with deeper blacks, more contrast and colour, sharper detail, and an iPhone's HDR shown the way every screen expects. Compare with the original, download.

How to enhance a video online
- Drop the video in. MP4, MOV or WebM. It plays in the page and is read in a moment.
- Look at the change. The picture shows enhanced. Press Original to see the same frame as shot, and back.
- Download. Pick the size and download the MP4.
What it changes
- Blacks and whites
- The darkest tones are pulled to black; whites are left alone unless the picture never reaches them.
- Contrast
- A touch for every video, more for a flat one. Nothing is brightened.
- Colour
- Brought up when it is thin, never past a limit, with skin tones kept natural.
- Detail
- Local contrast for everyone; sharpening only where the picture is soft.
- HDR from a phone
- HLG and PQ recordings are converted to standard video, so they stop looking washed out on other screens and after uploads.
What you get
- No account for videos up to 480p, no watermark, no email address. A free account downloads at the size you shot.
Questions people ask
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
Free, and nothing is added to the video. Without an account, downloads go up to 480p. A free account downloads at the size you shot.
Does it upscale to HD or 4K?
No. The video keeps the size it was shot at. What changes is the picture: its blacks, contrast, colour and detail, and HDR made to look right everywhere. For a bigger picture, shoot at a higher setting.
How does it decide what to change?
It reads a dozen frames spread over the video and measures them: where the blacks and whites sit, how much colour there is, how soft the detail is. From that it sets the amount, within limits, so a flat clip gets more and a well-shot one gets a light touch. Nothing is brightened; a bright picture is eased down a little if it needs it.
Can I see the original next to it?
Yes. The Enhanced and Original buttons under the picture switch the same frame between the two, so you can judge every part of the video before you download.
Why does my iPhone video look washed out on other screens?
iPhones record in HDR (HLG or Dolby Vision, in the BT.2020 colour space) by default. A phone screen shows that as intended; most other screens, players and websites do not, and the picture comes out flat, grey and over-bright. This tool reads what the file was shot in and converts the picture to standard video (BT.709), which every screen shows the same way.
Which files work?
MP4, MOV and WebM, including HEVC from an iPhone, in any browser that can play them. The download is an MP4 with the sound copied as it was.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in a current browser on a phone, tablet or computer. The work runs on the device's own graphics, so a long video takes a while on an older phone.
