How to download an Instagram post

Questions people ask
Can I download a Reel with the sound?
Yes. The MP4 carries the audio as posted. If the creator muted the original audio, there is nothing to fetch.
Does it download the whole carousel?
Yes. Every photo and video in the post comes back as its own file, in order.
Why does my saved Reel not play on Mac?
Instagram often serves Reels in a format QuickTime cannot decode. The file here is converted first, so it plays in QuickTime, Photos and every editor.
What size are the photos?
The size Instagram stores, usually 1080 pixels on the long side, sometimes more. Always larger than the preview in the feed.
Does it work on private accounts?
No. Private accounts and audience-limited posts cannot be reached.
Is there a watermark?
