Instagram caption spacer line breaks that stay.

Instagram removes blank lines when you post. This puts an invisible character on each one so the spacing holds. Paste, copy, post.

How to add line breaks to an Instagram caption

  1. Write the caption with the spacing you want. Blank lines between paragraphs, a line break before the hashtags.
  2. Copy the spaced version. Each blank line gets an invisible character so Instagram keeps it.
  3. Paste it in the Instagram app. The paragraphs stay where you put them. Works in captions, comments and the bio.

What the spacer changes

  • Every empty line gets one invisible character. That is the whole trick; Instagram keeps lines that have content.
  • Spaces at the end of lines are removed, because Instagram removes them anyway and they can break the layout.
  • Runs of spaces are collapsed to one. Instagram collapses them too.
  • Nothing else is touched: emoji, hashtags, mentions and punctuation stay exactly as written.

Questions people ask

Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?

Instagram strips blank lines and trailing spaces when you paste or post a caption, so paragraphs collapse into one block. It keeps a line that contains a character, even an invisible one. This tool puts that character on every blank line.

Which character does it add?

A Braille blank (U+2800) by default, the one most caption spacers use, because Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn all keep it and it shows as nothing. You can switch to a period or a middle dot if you prefer something visible.

Does it work in bios and comments?

Yes for captions, comments and bios. Bios are shorter, 150 characters, and each blank line counts as one character.

Does it work on TikTok, LinkedIn and Threads?

TikTok and LinkedIn keep blank lines in most cases but drop them in some app versions; the spacer makes them reliable. Threads and X keep blank lines on their own.

Why do my spaces disappear at the end of lines?

Instagram trims spaces at the end of a line and collapses runs of spaces. The spacer also removes those so what you see is what posts.
