How to compress an image to 100 KB
- Drop the images in. JPG, PNG or WebP, one or several.
- The target is already set to 100 KB. Change the number if the form says something else.
- Download. Each file lands at or under the target, as large and sharp as that size allows.
Getting under 100 KB
- What fits
- A 1200 pixel wide photo fits comfortably in 100 KB as a JPG. A 4000 pixel phone photo has to lose detail to get there; the tool lowers the quality first and the size only if it must.
- PNG
- PNG screenshots compress less well. If a form takes JPG, choose JPG as the output and the file gets far smaller at the same look.
- Forms with a pixel size too
- Resize the photo to the stated dimensions first, then compress; the two tools link to each other.
Questions people ask
Will the photo still look good at 100 KB?
For a photo up to about 1500 pixels wide, yes. Larger photos lose fine detail; the tool keeps as much as the target allows and shows the result before you download.
Can I set a different size?
Yes. The target is a number you can change to anything from 5 KB up.
Does it change the format?
Not unless you ask. Keep the original format, or pick JPG, PNG or WebP.
Is there a limit on how many?
No. Drop a batch and every file is brought to the same target.
